SOUTHERN ARIZONA LIVESTOCK INDUSTRY RESEARCH AND EDUCATION FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS

1. Criteria for selection:

Scholarship recipients will be selected on the basis of character, leadership potential, participation in youth group and community activities, participation in SAILA and scholarship.

2. Application requirements:

The application must include a copy of your high school or college transcript, sent directly to the foundation office at PO Box 1089, Tucson, AZ 85702 by your school. Please do not send any information to the SAILA street address! No application will be considered without a transcript. The application and transcript must be received by the deadline of February 15, 2011.

An individual applying for this scholarship must:

A. Be a graduating senior in high school this year, planning to enroll in college in the fall of 2011, or be currently enrolled in a college.

B. Be now, or in the past, a SAILA participant.

C. If enrolling in a Vo-Tech school, please submit two references.

3. Payment of Scholarships:

The funds will be paid directly to the student, one-half in September 2011, and one-half in January 2012. Payment will be made only after proper documentation has been received, showing the student is enrolled full-time, and fees have been paid. In order to receive the January funds, the student must have maintained a “C” or better average and have carried at least 12 credit hours the first semester.
